The Chakra Journey by Serena

(via tribe) Psy-artist Serena announced the commencement of a series of seven psychedelic illustrations called The Chakra Journey. Since each chakra represents “an aspect of consciousness essential to our lives”, hopefully the works will catalyze further acts of self-exploration and self-expression in this most talented member of our community.

The first piece in her series is entitled Muladhara, or Root Chakra.

The Root Chakra is

…Located at the base of the spine, it is our foundation for our entire system- the building block on which all the other chakras must rest. It relates to the element earth, It is where we are rooted. It is our need to stay alive and be healthy, where we learn to become grounded and where we manifest our ideas. It is a column of energy, red in color, running far from above your head, through the center or your body, and continues not only to the ground, but deep down into it, all the way to the center of the earth, down to its core.
